My Baubie used to cook it up with carrots, potatoes and onions and a little sugar. It was a whole meal. Sometimes she would serve it in a bowl with the warm broth. We would add matzo farfel to soak up the juice.
I like it baked on a layer of sliced onions and carrots with a coating of mayonnaise and ketchup.
